Sarah Marks Leach DMD
Dental / Maxillofacial Anesthesiologist
Dr. Sarah Marks Leach graduated from MUSC College of Dental Medicine in 2012. She continued her education by completing both a general practice residency in dentistry and Dental and Maxillofacial Anesthesiology residency at The Ohio State University.
After finishing residency, Dr. Leach was an assistant professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesiology at OSU. Her focus was on resident teaching in ambulatory anesthesia specific for oral surgery and dental procedures in a variety of patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics and special needs. Shortly after, Dr. Leach was appointed the Interim Program Director of the Dental Anesthesiology Residency. Dr. Leach has extensive experience during both her residency training and faculty appointment in performing anesthesia specifically for orthognathic surgery, facial trauma, oral pathology, plastic surgery, ENT surgery, full arch restoration with dental implants, and dentoalveolar procedures.
Dr. Leach is a Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and currently serves as a board examiner for the ADBA exam. She loves her job and special niche in both dentistry and anesthesiology because it allows her to be an advocate for the patient throughout their surgical care to help them achieve optimum oral health without pain or anxiety. Now that she has returned home to South Carolina, she continues to use her unique skillset to offer a more affordable alternative for surgery by providing anesthesia care in an ambulatory surgery setting. Outside of work, Dr. Leach enjoys spending time with family and friends, being a mama to her daughter, Dolly, and exploring all that Charleston has to offer.
